Silence In The Sound The Movie

Authors, Share Your Book with Millions of Readers

On March 24, 1989, a stunned nation watched in horror as news unfolded that an Exxon tanker had unleashed over one million barrels of crude oil in the waters of Prince William Sound, Alaska.
I shot videos concerning this news event, during the summer, which have been edited and compiled into one DVD. Workers who were in the video expressed a desire to obtained a copy. The video was shown at the reunion in Alaska, and I promised to have copies made available for anyone who wanted one. It has been a long time coming, but since I was forced to retired for health reasons, there has been time for me to not only finish my first book, but to edit and produce this DVD.
There is narrated coverage of the beach scene during a normal work day, as the different working boats perform their tasks of recovering oil from the water and beaches.
It was a long and hard summer and unless you were there it would be impossible to understand what took place. This DVD was made so the people who were there would have a preserved way to remember the adventure, and for the others who were not, to see the distinctive circumstances surrounding a work day on the oil covered beaches in Alaska during the summer of 1989.

This DVD will show oily beaches, working boats, crews and the entire cleaning process of Task Force One on a oily beach. Hopefully the movie will help to explain the procedure.
